Cartoon - Smoking Mouse Hole Inn

It's all booked up for Fourth of July. Damn! They have a sweet fireworks display over Smoking Mouse Hole Lake, and you can watch from the rooms on the second floor. Also, when visiting, don't forget to have breakfast at the Smoking Mose Hole Diner. They make a tasty chicken-fried steak. CM Evans Cartoons

Cartoon - Funny vs Not Funny

I'm afraid I'll still be quoting this when I'm a demented old fool in a nursing home, but Mel Brooks says "Tragedy happens when I cut my finger and bleed -- Comedy is when I fall into an open sewer and die." CM Evans Cartoons

Changes to CM Evans Cartoons Store - New Products!

I had some fun today rearranging the store -- adding a few new sections "?", "His Sovereign Royal Excellence", and "John Sings the Blues", and I created some new products in the "Easy to Read Timetelling Department" section and the "Signs & Alerts Department". I do like the
Oxford Lion Wall Clock and the Driving...Wall Clock. I also like how the MAIN ENTRY POINT pic turned out on the Journal, Tile Box and Tile Coaster. The Refreshingly Obscure Online Mercado

Cartoon no. 800 - The Flag of Splat

This here is the 800th cartoon posted to CM Evans Cartoons. When we get to 1,000 there will be free ham for everyone. Where is the country of Splat? I'm glad you asked. It is a small principality near Lichtenstein, and was formed in the 16th century when a few of people from Hohenems got drunk and had a fight. One guy in the Rathaus said "Fine, you're a stinking cheat at cards, so I'm not going to play with you anymore, and I'm going to set up my own country over there." Because Splat is smaller than Lichtenstein, if you miss seeing Lichtenstein because a tree was in the way -- you'll certainly miss seeing Splat. CM Evans Cartoons

Link Added - 1000 Arten ein Bier zu öffnen

Hey -- via BoingBoing found this website -- 1000 Arten ein Bier zu öffnen, for those who nicht verstehen Deutsch, that is "1000 ways to open a Beer bottle". I found it wonderfully instructive, added it to the links section, and I plan on trying all 1,000 variations. CM Evans Cartoons Links section

Cartoon - Joe Smithereen

Introducing Joe Smithereen, a character who lives in the heart of every adolescent boy after the invention of gunpowder. What young man does not want to find out what happens when you flush an M-80 down a toilet? What boy does not think it is a wonderful idea to shoot bottle rockets horizontally through the air at other boys? What male has not felt the extreme satisfaction of lighting a whole brick of firecrackers and hurtling them as they explode high into the air with a shovel? CM Evans Cartoons

Darby Hudson and CM Evans at Dancing on Fly Ash

A pleasant surprise. Josh Maday from the literary website Dancing on Fly Ash posted a series of links to artist Austin Kleon and some words regarding, amongst other things, CM Evans Cartoons and Darby Hudson's Website. Darby is a very talented cartoonist, illustrator, and artist from Melbourne Australia. Josh Maday's writing has been published online and offline -- he and Darby have appeared also over at Opium Magazine. If you are not acquainted with their work, take a look. I'm sure you'll be pleased.

CM Evans Live @ Opium

Another recent CM Evans cartoon is live today over at Opium Magazine. Go check it out. They're all wacky over the World Cup and I'm starting to get infected by it. Is that possible?

Cartoon - Divine Comedy

After I graduated from high school I worked in a warehouse, listened to heavy metal & classical music, and I read several translations of the Devine Comedy. After the summer was over, I started junior college, listened to the album Time Out, Dark Side of the Moon, Appetite for Destruction & The Four Seasons over and over again while reading several translations of the Devine Comedy. I think my favorite translation is by John Ciardi. CM Evans Cartoons

Website fixed

Thanks Jason.

Cartoon - Two Stones

Having some problems getting the cartoon to update to the website, for some reason. I'll get it fixed. BTW - getting close to having 800 cartoons online, after about 6 years of doing this. Funny thing, when I first started the website, I was updating 6 days a week -- I did that for almost a year and a half when I realized it was better to update 2 or 3 times per week...updating less gave me more visitors. Then MySpace found me and kicked my numbers through the roof. Thanks to all the people from MySpace who look at my work. And thanks to those people out there who have been coming by since the earliest days. CM Evans Cartoons

Cartoon - Big Shoes

Huge shoes. If I could get me a pair of yellow shoes the size of small canoes, this would be my new hobby. I'd walk all over town -- for miles and miles, even across the country, no doubt setting new records for following people in huge shoes.

This one is dedicated to all those times when you were absolutely sure you were going to find the answer, but then it turned out there were only more questions. CM Evans Cartoons

Cartoon - Questions

When I was in my late teens and early twenties, this is the type of inner monologue I would have, day in, day out. I thought I was one of the sharper tools in the proverbial shed, but in reality, I was a meandering idiot. True, I was amongst other meandering idiots, they were my friends. And my enemies. And my lovers. And my idols. And now I find, just about everybody else in the world. I aspire now to be an inner village idiot or at least an outward seeming village idiot. Everyone who knows me will say the outward idiotic aspect is nearly completed. CM Evans Cartoons
